
ARTS: Artisans Holiday Show in Water Mill
A group of local artisans are exhibiting at The Watermill Community House on the weekend of Thanksgiving, Nov 28th & 29th on route 27 in Watermill. The group will be offering a variety of artwork. Entrance is free and refreshments will be served.
Annie Sessler from Montauk, with her original one of a kind handmade fish rubbings. The prints are created by hand rubbing inked fish caught by her fisherman husband onto a variety of textiles. Annie's prints are available in either framed or unframed formats. Her work has been highlighted recently in the New York Times, The East Hampton Star, The EH Press,danshamptons.com, Hamptons Online, and Edible East End.
David Posnett from East Hampton is an unconventional jeweler who incorporates beachstones and other finds from our local beaches in his designs. His highly original jewelry has been featured in juried exhibits and is currently on display at the Guild Hall gift shop in East Hampton. Recent articles about David’s work have appeared in the East Hampton Star and Hamptons Online.
Marcie Honerkamp from East Hampton is a successful mosaic artist. She has been featured in the 2008 Hampton Idea House, HC&G magazine, the East Hampton Star and various galleries on Long Island and the NY metropolitan area. She sells custom made pieces internationally. Locally, she is known for her mosaic surfboards, mosaic guitars and a giant mural in the Springs School library.
Barbara Ringwald from Cutchogue is a well know weaver with a large following. She is an award-winning “fiber artist ' who designs and weaves clothing that reflects the time-consuming care and love that went into apparel in the past but is sophisticated and user-friendly for our present day busy lifestyles. She believes that clothing should be beautiful,comfortable,practical, and above all- fun to wear!
Josephine Glazebrook is the owner of Odyssey Stoneware in Port Jefferson. For 30 years she has been striving to fulfill her customers' desire for fine and functional stoneware and porcelain pottery. She finds the balance between function and beauty and learns through experimentation and serendipity.
Jim Levinson from Sag Harbor is a photographer. His work features both saltwater and freshwater fly fishing, hunting dogs and bird hunting, as well as a fine selection of general outdoor photography. Jim also guides saltwater anglers at Montauk Point from May through October.
